A traditional herbal medicine practitioner, Dr. Alayande Moruf Adekunle has started that there is complete herbal treatment for stroke and other chronic diseases in his clinic.
Dr. Adekunle who is also the Chairman of National Association of Herbal Medicine Employers in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo state stated this while speaking to our correspondent in Ibadan, said that contrary to what many people are saying that there is no herbal treatment for Stroke and other chronic diseases affecting mankind, he said he has treated many with Stroke and other chronic diseases which herbs.
” We all know that Stroke has become a huge burden to many Nigerians. The situation of things in Nigeria today has made Stroke a leading cause of death and disability. Even globally, about 16 million stroke cases occur every year, resulting in about 5.7 million deaths annually according to research.”
He added that: “low- and middle-income countries are worse off, recording about 85% of all stroke deaths, and accounting for 87% of total losses in terms of disability-adjusted years, worldwide.”
“The burden of stroke lies in high mortality and morbidity. And without due intervention, the number of deaths worldwide from stroke may rise as high as 7.8 million by the year 2030.
Speaking further, Dr Adekunle stated that the World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that by the year 2030, 80% of all stroke cases will occur in low- and middle-income countries.
” This means that 6.24 million of the estimated deaths from stroke in 2030 will be in Africa. And with the situation of things in Nigeria we might be at the highest rates of stroke worldwide.
“That is why I’m appealing to government at all levels to give assistance to genuine herbal medicine practitioners to continue to assist Nigerians with stroke and other chronic diseases. In our clinic, we have successfully treated many people with Stroke and other chronic diseases.”
