
In celebration of Prince Tony Momoh’s 78 birthday, a professor of publishing/copyright, bibliotherapy and communication studies at the University of Ibadan, Professor Oshiotse Andrew Okwilagwe, has concluded plans to donate 1000 sets of four volumes (4,000 copies) of current re- prints of an invaluable, first in Africa, Encyclopaedia of Mass Media & Communication to all academic libraries of all tertiary institutions, professors of Mass Media and Communication Studies, all state chapters of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Federal Ministry of Information in the country, under the auspices of Prince Tony Momoh Foundation for Media Excellence, founded by Professor Okwilagwe.
The motive for donating the book, according to Professor Okwilagwe is to honour Nigeria’s finest journalist, bibliotherapist, cultural engineer, a disciplined politician and elder statesman, Prince Tony Momoh who celebrates his 78 birthday on April 27, 2017.
“I will donate 1000 sets of four volumes (4,000 copies) of Encyclopaedia of Mass Media & Communication to academic libraries in all tertiary institutions, professors of Mass Media and Communication Studies, all state chapters of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, and Federal Ministry of Information in the country in honour of Prince Tony Momoh. I am Prince Tony Momoh’s biographer but he has become my mentor and source of inspiration.”
The current price of each set of the four volumes of the is N25,000 totalling N25m.
The Professor also expressed appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the project. “I thank all those who contributed to the success of this project in cash and in kind.”
