Twitter Says It Will Work To Restore Access For Nigerians After Govt. Suspension

Twitter says it will see to it that Nigerians are able to access the microblogging site once again.
The federal government had on Friday indefinitely suspended Twitter operations in Nigeria, accusing the social media platform of “undermining Nigeria’s existence”.

Commenting on the development on Saturday, Twitter, via its public policy handle, said access to open internet is an essential human right, adding that it is concerned about the restrictions placed on its operations in Nigeria.

“We are deeply concerned by the blocking of Twitter in Nigeria. Access to the free and #OpenInternet is an essential human right in modern society. We will work to restore access for all those in Nigeria who rely on Twitter to communicate and connect with the world,” it said.
