Top Boko Haram Commander Arrested In Ondo

The military authorities have announced the arrest of Idris Babawo, a top commander of the Boko Haram sect.
According to Sani Usman, army spokesman, the Ondo police command captured Babawo in the state.
Usman said Babawo, who also goes by the name Idoko or Nagada, is number 156 on the list of wanted Boko Haram members released by the army.
“The Ondo state command of the Nigeria police on September 24 at about 2pm, arrested a wanted Boko Haram terrorist, Idris Ibrahim Babawo, believed to be number 156 on the wanted Boko Haram terrorists list,” he said in a statement.
“He was handed over to the 32 brigade, 2 division, Nigerian army at about 2pm on September 25.”
He said preliminary investigations showed that the suspect hail from Chinade village in Katagum local government area of Bauchi state.
He said Babawo escaped from the north-east because of what he described as “sustained military onslaught on the jihadists”.
