The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC in the last general elections in Nigeria, Omoyele Sowore has condemned President Bola Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy that has now plunged Nigeria into economic crisis.
Sowore while speaking in a radio interview with Temitayo Oyeladun of Lagelu FM, Ibadan, said that there was no need for the President to remove the fuel subsidy if the government really knows and understand what it was doing.
According to him, what the President ought to have done was to remove the hands of those who have been benefiting illegally from the subsidy and the problem will be solved naturally.
“There is nowhere in the world where government is not subsidising one sector or the other in the interest of the masses. Go to US and other developed economies, government is subsidising. What our President ought to have done done is to remove the hands of his friends who are benefiting from subsidy.”
Sowore who accused the current government of stealing some parts of his manifesto said that they still could not understand how it could be used for the betterment of the masses.
