The Oodua Peoples Congress (New Era) Ibadan South East local government has apprehended two notorious burglars terrorising some
areas in Ibadan.
The burglars who were apprehended at Sanyo area by the vigilant
members of OPC New Era were later handed over officers of the Nigeria Police.
While speaking to Journalists on the arrest, the Chairman of OPC New
Era in Ibadan South East who led his men to handover the burglars to
the Police, Comrade Ijoye Fajobi said that OPC New Era had received
reports on the activities of the burglars from many residents who have
fell victims.
Ijoye said that the two burglars whose names are Ibrahim Bello, 19 and Mubarak Lawal, 20 had posed as wheel barrow pushers had successfully burgled the house of their victims and catered away his Plasma television, radio and some other properties before they were arrested by the vigilant OPC New Era members.
The OPC leader who urged the Police to ensure that the burglars are
properly prosecuted within the ambit of the law expressed his displeasure over how some police officers are fond of releasing
criminals arrested and handed over to them by OPC New Era in the past.
In a related development, the Ibadan South East chapter of the OPC New Era has congratulated the national leadership of OPC led by Comrade Razak Arogundade.
In a congratulatory letter made available to journalists in Ibadan by
Comrade Ijoye Fajobi and Comrade Kolawole Bashiru a.k.a Gauzu, the Ibadan South East Chapter of the group congratulated the national leadership of OPC New Era as well as its members all over the countryon its 3 years anniversary and also congratulated Comrade Adesina Akinpelu on his birthday.
