Nigeria Play 1-1 Draw With DR Congo

The Nigeria’s Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly against DR Congo at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Simy Nwankwo, who struck the woodwork in the third minute, and Junior Lokosa were handed their international debut for Nigeria.
Gernot Rohr’s wards took the lead through William Troost Ekong after Ogenyi Onazi’s free-kick caused a commotion in the box.
The Simbas, who enjoyed possession in the second half, drew level after Malango Ngita sent goalkeeper Francis Uzoho the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Nigeria fought to take the lead but the Congolese managed to keep the game level.
The game was part of Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
The Super Eagles will play another warm-up friendly against England at the Wembley Stadium on June 4. They will take on Czech Republic on June 10 in Austria.
Nigeria are in the same World Cup group with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.
