The remains of 49-year-old woman identified as Nkechinyere Catherine Nnaama and that of her 16-year-old daughter Ifunanya Favour Nnaama, who were allegedly both killed by a suspected rapist on March 30, 2021 would be buried on June 4, 2021 in Akwa Ibom State.
Both the mother and the daughter were said to have been killed by a rapist who happened to be the flatmate of the woman in Lagos.
According to a Facebook post by Amaka Okeagu the woman named Nkechinyere came back from School and while trying to open the door of her flat heard the noise of her 16 years daughter resisting being raped by a young man who happened to be her flatmate.
The young man according to the post used sledgehammer to hit Nkechinyere on the head and also hit her daughter on the head too.
Nkechinyere was said to have died on the way to hospital, while her daughter died two days later.
In the Obituary poster that contains the pictures of both Nkechinyere Catherine Nnaama and her daughter, Ifunanya Favour Nnaama; it also reads: ” With sorrow in our hearts, the family of Nnaama of Umuonaga village, Akwa, Akwa South Local Government area respectively regret to announce the sudden death of our mother, Daughter, sister, aunt, wife.”
