Lagos East : Group Offers To Buy Nomination Form For Osinowo

A socio-political group, under the aegis of Lagos East Youth Alliance (LEYA) has urged lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bayo Osinowo to seek a bigger aspiration and contest the Lagos East Senatorial seat.
The group said it was prepared to buy the senatorial nomination form for the state lawmaker, noting that Osinowo has given a good account of himself in Lagos as a ‘political torchbearer.’
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Com. Bamidele Ahmed, after its quarterly meeting held over the weekend in Lagos, the group averred that the clarion call on the lawmaker was designed to raise the bar of representation in the National Assembly.
The district, according to the group, deserves a better representation and reliable mouthpiece like Osinowo who has been speaking for the downtrodden and relating with them.
“In politics, quality representation in a political assignment heralds more support for another task, to this end, we have x-rayed all potential candidates gunning to represent us in the red chamber of the National Assembly”
“Thus, in the political voyage to get a befitting representation for the district, we have agreed to echo our support for an experienced lawmaker, who connects with the people and understands the nitty gritty of good governance in establishing mechanisms that can accommodate the scope of all interests”
“We hereby call on all progressives in the district to join us in our plea, as the positive choice before us in the next general election is to drag the longest serving lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bayo Osinowo to contest for the highly coveted seat,” the statement added.
To further convince the lawmaker to take a big step forward, the group disclosed that it had started approaching notable traditional rulers, community leaders, and religious leaders across the five local governments making up the district to market his candidacy to the people.
