The 109 senators of the 10th national assembly have donated their salaries for the month of December, amounting to N109m, to the victims of the Kaduna air strike.
On December 2, many residents of Tudun Biri in Igabi LGA of Kaduna were killed in air strikes said to be targeted at terrorists.
According to multiple reports, the death toll from the incident was over 120, while scores were left badly injured.
The Nigerian Army has accepted responsibility for the incident, stating that its troops were on a routine mission against terrorists when the “mistake” occurred.
Barau Jibrin, deputy senate president, announced the development when he led a delegation of the senate to Kaduna.
The senators were received by Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna.
Jibrin said the money would be sent to the state governor for onward delivery to the victims.
The Kaduna governor thanked the senators for their donation.
