Jonathan To Nigerians: You Will All Remember Me For The Total ‘Freedom’ You Enjoyed Under Me

Former president Goodluck Jonathan has reminded Nigerians of the “total freedom” they enjoyed during his administration, barely a day after the military said it is now monitoring comments on social media to tackle anti-government and anti-security views.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday stated that some comments on social media “have crossed our national red lines” and left him distressed while he was away on a medical vacation that lasted over hundred days.
It would be recalled that last week, then Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo declared that “The federal government has today drawn the line on hate speech. Hate speech is a specie of terrorism.”
On Thursday, Jonathan re-posted the picture of a quote he made on Facebook in 2014, which read in part, “I am the most abused and insulted President in the world but when I leave office, you will all remember me for the total ‘freedom’ you enjoyed under me.”
