Iyaganku Police Boss Visits Koyejo Community, Calls for Collective Efforts To Curb Crimes

The Divisional Police Officer of Iyaganku Police Station, CSP Afeez A. Oyekan, has revealed that collective efforts remain paramount in the bid to enhance the state of security of lives and properties.

He stated this during a courtesy visit to Koyejo Area of Oke-Bola Community, Ibadan.

According to him, information must be right and detailed as a need to enhance logistics support.

“The police force remains the friend of the people. We are determined to be very close to our people as a need to serve diligently. Our visit to the community was to remind us that we need to embrace collective efforts to curb crimes in our society. This society belongs to all of us, and we need to have all hands on the desk.

“We condemn jungle justice because such act prevents the process of justice as the law won’t be able to have access to viable information. In the case of emergency, and logistic support, we are available at your service. This is the 21st century, the use of mobile phone and internet to reach me is the most preferred. This helps to speed up our response to distressed calls, emergency or intelligence report.

“Our patrol vans drive slowly, as that remains the ethical standard across the country. We are always on surveillance, and we beg community leaders to make sure that there are people at the entrance gates, especially when locked. We should be conscious of others, especially in cases of medical emergency. Ignorance is not an excuse under the lens of the law.

“We all need to sacrifice our time, money and energy as a community of one people. On this note, everyone is charged to corporate to community standards, laws and demands. Everyone is equal before the law. We are increasing police presence in our environment. We are friendly, and we except friendly and healthy relationship with the entire community.

Speaking on behalf of the community,
Adewole Joseph, noted that, “there were times, these criminals come regularly, it was serious battle to curb such horrible experiences. We consciously took charge of our security. We are happy that the police is truly conscious of our security affairs, however we don’t engage in jungle justice as we are conscious of our duties as law abiding citizens.

“We are ready to join hands with the police. This is the time first we ever had this mind of moment”..

“On behalf of the entire community, we appreciate your coming and to form synergy to tackle insecurities. This kind of attitude is a reflection that Nigeria shall be great someday.
