Since the indictment of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), his Intelligence Response Team (IRT) members who were hitherto known to flaunt flamboyant lifestyles on social media have all deleted their pictures and also deleted their social media accounts.
Investigation by TheDispatchng revealed that after Kyari was indicted by FBI and which a court document revealed an order to arrest and detain him following the confession of Ramon Abbas known as Hushpuppi, his team members believed to be beneficiaries of the various alleged atrocities committed under Kyari have either deleted pictures of their flamboyant lifestyles or deleted their accounts on social media, especially on Instagram to avoid being nailed with their boss.
Further investigations by TheDispatchng revealed that many of Kyari’s team members are living above their salaries and have acquired mighty buildings and exotic cars which they also flaunt on social media, especially on Instagram where they go by different names.
TheDispatchng investigations showed that many of the Kyari’s IRT team members have become celebrities with thousands of followers on Instagram.
It would be recalled that Ramon Abass known as Hushpuppi pleaded guilty to large-scale cyber fraud in the U.S. recently and DCP Abba Kyari was indicted to be one of the beneficiaries of Hushpuppi’s fraudulent actions.
In the U.S. court documents Abbas was accused of bribing Mr Kyari to arrest one of his gang members following a dispute presumably over the proceeds of crime.
Claiming no wrongdoing, Kyari, in a statement which he has now deleted on Facebook, narrated how Abbas called him two years ago to complain about a person threatening to kill his family.
He said the suspect was released after discovering there was no threat to anyone’s life, “and they are longtime friends who have money issues between them.
“Nobody demanded a kobo from Abbas Hushpuppi,” claiming that he only introduced Mr Abbas, who paid N300,000 to his cloth vendor.
“Later, he saw some of my native clothes and caps on my social media page, and he said he likes them, and he was connected to the person selling the clothes, and he sent about N300k directly to the person’s account,” added Mr Kyari. “The native clothes and caps (five sets) were brought to our office, and He sent somebody to collect them in our office.”
TheDispatchng investigations showed among Kyari’s IRT team members known as Kyari’s boys usually operate as if they’re above the law.
“Some of their victims who spoke to TheDispatchng under conditions of anonymity said that the fear of Kyari’s boys is the beginning of wisdom. They usually operate above the law and can kill, confiscate people’s properties without charging them to court.”
Some of the Kyari’s IRT team members who have always flaunt flamboyant lifestyles on social media include Otunba Okoko whose Instagram is @otunba_okoto_irtbjconnect, Yomi Sars, @yomisarsoga, @gbengairt and many others.
Some of Kyari’s team members we also gathered are also looking for a way to save their boss, as he has been suspended and replaced with DCP Tunji Disu.
Kyari whose fate currently hangs on balance has assembled team of lawyers to prevent his extradition to U.S.
