Igboho: Statement On ‘Political Solution’ Gives Credence To My Earlier Position On Meeting Him To Accept Olive Branch-YYF President

The President General of Yoruba Youth Forum, YYF, Comrade Abiodun Bolarinwa has said that the current position of Sunday Adeyemo known as Sunday Igboho to accept political solution as indicated by his lawyer, Chief Yomi Aliu (SAN), was exactly the advice he gave to the Yoruba Nation agitator when he recently visited him in Cotonou prison.

YYF President General in a press statement said that the group and other prominent persons in Yoruba land have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to grant amnesty to Igboho and that the recent statement by Abubakar Malami that the government might consider political solution to the issue of Sunday Igboho is as a result of their collective efforts to get him released from Cotonou prison.

Bolarinwa who condemned the self-acclaimed spokesperson for Igboho, Olayomi Koiki for denying that he (Bolarinwa) never visited Igboho in Cotonou prison and discussed political solution to his predicament was a figment of imagination of Koiki whom he said has no more authority to speak on behalf of Igboho.

“Koiki is a liar, a misguided youth who speaks from both sides of his mouth. He has become a problem and liability to Igboho through unguarded statements. Now, that the statement by Igboho’s lawyer, Chief Yomi Aliyu SAN of not ruling out political solution to his client’s travails is out, I wonder what Koiki is going to do now. As a matter of fact, part of what I discussed with Igboho when I visited him in Cotonou prison was to seek for political solution and that is what he has accepted now for him to travel to Germany for medical treatment.”

“The semantics might be different but this is exactly what we agreed on when I visited Igboho in Cotonou prison. We agreed on political situation and this statement by his lawyer that he has accepted to accept political solution to his agitation and continued detention has confirmed my earlier statement that he is open for political solution.”
