A single mother of one and native of Ilejemeje in Ekiti State, Oladosu Toyin Enitan, has cried to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali and the Oyo State Police Command of the Nigerian Police Force to save her life and that of her son, Michael and brother, Korede Oladosu who are being threatened by unknown kidnappers, who abducted her parents, Isaac and Funmilayo Oladosu on October 28, 2022 at about 2pm on the busy Lagos-Ibadan express highway on their way home from church the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
According to her, she had earlier exchanged pleasantries and congratulations with her father and mother that day following the successful completion of the seven days fasting and prayer declared by the church.
Born September 1, 1986, Oladosu explained that later that fateful day, news filtered in that some commercial buses were waylaid and attacked some meters away from the Sagamu interchange by some armed gunmen who usually rob and kidnap for ransom on the busy road.
“I became worried and agitated because I know my parents travelled on that same road that day. They went to the Redeemed Camp for prayers and fasting exercise, which I congratulated them for successfully completing,” she said.
The mother of one explained that while still in bewilderment over the news, a call came in from her mother who told her that they were attacked and kidnapped by some gunmen shortly after the Sagamu interchange and the incident left some people with various degrees of injuries.
She said, “After the call, all efforts to reach them yielded no success as their phones – my father and mother – were switched off. My mother told me that my father was among those four people killed, as he was begging and trying to tell them he was not feeling fine, as he was hypertensive.
“The call lasted for about a minute; she said we (myself and Korede) should go and look for money that she would not be released until a ransom of N30 millon is paid to the kidnappers
“I had to travel to the area to search for them, and also report the incident at the Divisional Police station in Ogere, where the police officers confirmed they were aware of the attack/kidnap.”
Commending the Ogere police division headquarters, Oladosu said though they have been helpful, no goodnews yet on the whereabout of mother, as she cannot say if she is alive or has been killed by the kidnappers.
“Detectives from the station joined us in the search for them and promised to apprehend the criminals. We were able to gather from residents of the area that four people were killed on a spot and more than 32 persons taken away into the busy along the highway.

“The following day a strange number called me and it was my mother’s voice. One of the kidnappers grabbed the phone from her and the voice said I will also be killed. I was shocked as he said he knows me and I should be expecting them soon.”
Oladosu continued: “I reported the development to the police. Luckily for me I have a valid tourist visa to France because I had been planning to visit France for holiday and also seize the opportunity to have a comprehensive medical check, which I had worked and saved towards over the years.
“My mother was later killed by the kidnappers as I was unable to meet their N30 million ransom demand. Before their gruesome murder, my parents were pensioners which makes me to hustle to care for myself and my small family.
“My son Michael was in boarding school and my brother is a tailor. Prior to my leaving Nigeria for safety, I worked in Lagos state, while my parents and brother live in Ibadan at SW9/11 Desalu Street, Odo-Ona in Apata area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
“After the incident we (me, my brother and my son) could barely sleep and moved out of the house. We took shelter at the police station for five days. The only option we had was to take to our heels and seek for help.
“My brother and son are staying in different locations for safety reasons. I arrived in France on November 12, 2022. I am a single mother who provides for my son and family, please save me and my family.”
