A group known as Ifelodun Youth Vanguard (IYV) has urged the Governor of Osun state, Adegboyega Oyetola and the Osun State Commissioner of Police to as a matter of urgency order the arrest of Elende of Ende land, Oba Abdulrahuf Olaniyan Adebayo and others responsible for the attack on Oba Akinwale Abimbola Sunday of Eko Ajala.
The Group in a press release by its chairman and secretary-Sanmi Akande and Adegoke Matthew, said that it had earlier appealed to the Governor of Osun State Gboyega Oyetola to intervene into the imminent intra-ethnic conflict between Eko Ajala and Eko Ende in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of State of the State over attempt by Oba of Eko Ende to forcefully remove Oba Eko Ajala but the Governor didn’t take action.
The Group added that, it was the failure of the Governor to take action that led to yesterday’s attack on Oba Akinwale Abimbola Sunday of Eko Ajala by Elende of Ende land, Oba Abdulrahuf Olaniyan Adebayo and thirty others who nearly killed the Oba of Eko Ajala.
“As the apex body of youth groups in Ifelodun local government area of Osun state, we have earlier informed the Governor of Osun state about imminent intra-ethnic conflict between Eko Ende and Eko Ajala in the Ifelodun Local Government. It is very unfortunate that since we raised the alarm, no action was taken by the Governor of Osun state.
“The refusal of the Governor to take action we believe is the reason why Elende of Eko Ende, Oba Abdulrahuf Olaniyan Adebayo who has always being boosting that he is above the law led about 30 thugs to invade the palace of Oba Akinwale Abimbola Sunday of Eko Ajala, where he was nearly killed but managed to escape with wounds, while his wife and other palace staff were mercilessly beaten and injured. The attackers also made away with cash over of (N4, 002,000) Four million, two hundred thousand and destroyed many properties.”
The group has again called on the Governor of Osun State, and the Commissioner of Police in Osun State to as a matter of urgency order the arrest of Elende of Eko Ende, Oba Abdulrahuf Olaniyan Adebayo and other thugs who attacked and robbed Oba Akinwale Abimbola Sunday of Eko Ajala on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his palace at Eko Ajala.
“We have spoken with Oba Akinwale Abimbola Sunday of Eko Ajala and he gave the names of those who he could identify among the attackers as Elende of Eko Ende, Oba Abdulrahuf Olaniyan Adebayo, Alhaji Jimoh Ogo, Gbenga Salau Olayemi, Olayemi Olawale, Olayemi Ranti (who came with Pump Action Gun), Awodeji Kareem, Olayemi Olabisi, Awodeji Ojo, Awodeji Sheu, Awoyemi Ibrahim, Adenuga Abioye, Hassan Akeem Ajirowo,
Olusola Ayantunji, Tunde Alamu, Dele Olayemi, Abiodun Akinloye and Chief Olalere.
“We also use this medium to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to hold the Governor of Osun state, Gboyega Oyetola and the Osun state Commissioner of Police responsible for any eventual breakdown of law and order in the two communities should they refused to take necessary action this time around.”
