The Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has said that its members are not diverting Petroleum products, challenging the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to produce evidence of any member engaging in the act.
IPMAN speaking through its authentic National President, Chief Dr Kolawole Adewoyin said that the allegation by Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) is not only baseless but also untrue.
The authentic National President of the Association, Chief Dr Kolawole Adewoyin however challenged the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to produce evidence that shows that IPMAN members are diverting Petroleum products to neighbouring countries as it alleged.
“The allegation that our members are diverting Petroleum products to neighbouring countries is not true. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) should produce or show us the evidence where our members are diverting the product.”
Chief Adewoyin added that 80% of IPMAN members have not been able to lift fuel in the last few months owing to the introduction of PPMC Customer Express payment, which according to him is bringing untold hardship for its members.
“The question we should be asking the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) is how will IPMAN members who have not been able to lift fuel due to the new PPMC Customer Express now be diverting the product to neighbouring countries? 80% of our members have not lifted fuel for months now except the major marketers who are not even members of IPMAN but are enjoying credit facilities, while IPMAN members pay cash in advance . We even have our own task force to checkmate the activities of our members.”
Speaking further, Chief Dr Adewoyin wondered how it is even possible for IPMAN members to engage in diversion with all the security agencies manning our borders.
“IPMAN under my leadership has made several attempts to prevent any problem. We have released many press releases and written letters to NNPC to give our members time before implementing the new payment method but they remained adamant. It is obvious that NNPC and its subsidiary, PPMC are trying to create a problem that will plunge Nigeria into economic crisis.”

the National Assembly to call NNPC and its subsidiary, PPMC to order over its new payment method, PPMC Customer Express.”
