A former Secretary to the Oyo state Government and Asaaju Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli Friday described the death of eldest wife of Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olori Kudirat as shocking.
Recalling the supportive and highly remarkable roles the late Olori gave to Kabiyesi since he mounted the throne of Olubadan about two years ago, Chief Sharafadeen Alli said it was sad that Olori Kudirat left when her care and love were more needed to lift Oba Adetunji’s spirit in these trying times of preserving the traditional heritage and cultural norm of the great city of Ibadan.
“Its so shocking and utter disbelief that Olori Kudirat is no more. Her absence will be felt by the Olubadan and indeed all lovers of our revered Kabiyesi. However, we take solace that she lived life as a fulfilled mother, wife and Queen to Olubadan. She will be sorely missed by all,” Chief Sharafadeen Alli added.
Though death is an inevitable end of every mortal, Asaaju Balogun Olubadan said the late Olori was a devout Muslim who used her life and time to lift, liberate and emancipate scores of women through her calling as the Iyaloja of Ajegunle, Lagos State.
He, therefore, called on Olubadan to take heart and be strong for “Allah will be kind to the soul of her late Olori” and grant her Aljanah firdaus.
