Chief Magistrate A.A Adebisi of Court 2, Iyanganku, Ibadan on Friday ordered that one Agboola Ibrahim (23) be given 12 strokes of cane at open court for allegedly attempting to steal a brand new unregistered Bajaj motorcycle.
The 23years old man, who was arrested by police and arraigned before the Chief Magistrate A.A Adebisi was nabbed while trying to steal an unregistered motorcycle.
The suspect, who pleaded guilty was arraigned on one count charge of stealing
with charge sheet No: MI/1555/2017.
The prosecutor, Mr. Shalewa Hammed told the court that the accused on the 23 of August 2017, at about 2pm at Mokola area of Ibadan magisterial district did have in his possession one unregistered Bajaj motorcycle valued at two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000).
The prosecutor said the offences contravened section 430 of the criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.
