…As New Governor Reiterates Commitment Towards Challenges In The State

People of Ekiti State on Tuesday witnessed the beginning of another administration as new government was sworn in amidst hopes elation and expectations.
The event took place at Ekiti Pavilion, Iyin road where the new Governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi and his Deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi were sworn-in.
The Chief judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola administered the oath of allegiance/ office to the governor and his Deputy with emphasis on commitment and dedication towards good governance.
President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr. Boss Mustapha expressed his readiness to give the new administration all necessary supports to achieve good governance.
He described the new governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi as a committed person who is equal to the task to lifting up the economy of the State.
Buhari therefore congratulated the people of Ekiti for giving the governor another chance.
“This inauguration is significant because Ekiti has made a right choice with the return of APC/Fayemi administration.
“Ekiti has returned to civility and decency. When Fayemi served as a Minister at the Federal Ministry of Solid Mines and Steel he delivered promptly”.
Buhari said Fayemi during his first term in office in Ekiti between 2010-2014 embarked on developmental projects, laudable, social /investment programme, the exercise which he assured its continuity in Ekiti.
The president therefore implored the new governor not to relent in serving the people with commitment.
The president called the people of Ekiti to work towards the success of APC in the 2019 general election.
He said the return of APC at the Federal will further enhance dividends of democracy for the people of the state.
The New Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi in his acceptance speech expressed appreciation to the people of Ekiti State whom he said are instrumental to his electoral success.
He therefore promises to take full ownership of the challenges ahead.
“I will not rest until workers’ salaries are cleared”.
He called business owners including banks who have left the state to come back and continue their businesses.
“Competent governance is on ground to work with you in partnership”.
Fayemi reiterates his commitment to ethical governance characterized with disciplines, he affirms he’s “not interested in trial, but rather seek out the truth and lay it.
“I am not on a revenge mission, but a healing balm”.
On the alleged 170b debt of the immediate past administration, Fayemi promised to review documents and disseminate the present state of affairs.
He reiterated his commitment to conquer grievous mistakes that cause setback on Ekiti development.
“Never again should we toil with our education, health, infrastructure, tourism sector, security and accountability, no draconian, one-man show”.
Fayemi who promised to revive the social security scheme for the elderly in Ekiti, vowed to make the state a place where people can live with dignity by focusing on four areas of Agriculture /rural development, Social Investment Scheme, Infrastructural/Entrenching Development.
Among the dignitaries who graced the ceremony were APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Executives, Governors in the Southwest, other APC Governors, Ooni of Ife -Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and some Monarchs within and outside the State.
