EPL: Arsenal Beat Manchester United To Boost Top Four Finish

Arsenal boosted their chase for top four finish in the English Premier League on Saturday, beating Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirate Stadium.

The Gunners built on last week’s sterling performance against Chelsea, beating United, who suffered a devastating 4-0 defeat to Liverpool earlier in the week, to all three points.

Capitalising on a defensive flaw to net a goal three minutes into the game, Nuno Tavares gave the Gunners a good start in the game.

Bukayo Saka made it two for Arsenal, scoring from the spot in the 32nd minutes of the game.

Two minutes later, however, Cristiano Ronaldo reduced Arsenal’s lead, scoring for United and creating a comeback possibility for the Red Devils.

The Gunners went into the first half break with a goal lead, leaving United to fight their way back into the game.

Few minutes into second half, United were awarded a penalty due to Tavares’ handball. But Bruno Fernandes blew United’s chance of an equaliser.

In the 70th minutes, Granite Xhaka secured Arsenal’s victory with another goal, bringing game scores to 3-1 in favour of Arsenal.

With 60 points in 33 games, Arsenal are now 4th on the EPL log, while Manchester United are 6th on the log with 54 points in 34 games.
