A Nigeria born Man of God, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, the Global Lead Pastor of SPAC Nation London, has added his voice to the call for reforms in the Nigeria Police Force and also commended the federal government for listening to the demands of the masses on alleged police brutality by the police and scrapping of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
Pastor Tobi who stated this during a family Church programme in London said that the peaceful protests were timely carried out but warned that hoodlums should not be allowed to hijack it, adding that it should be peacefully carried out without any blood letting.
The Global Lead Pastor who was a student in Nigeria before his relocation to London about 15 years ago recalled that police brutality in Nigeria had been long, saying that the establishment of the so-called Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) provided further opportunities for the criminal elements in the force to display their brutality on innocent Nigerian masses.
Speaking further he said that the purpose of God for mankind was peaceful coexistence and destiny fulfilment and not the massacre of innocent youths.
“Whatever we do in life, we appear to influence the world we live in and should be geared towards fulfilling purpose.”
According to the Nigerian-born Pastor whose works have positively impacted many lives in the United Kingdom, and London in particular, “we are to work towards discovering our purpose and not allow anything to let us compromise the fulfilment of purpose, just like our Lord , Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace.
PT, as Pastor Tobi is called by his congregation emphasised on the fact that Jesus had a sense of purpose and time. This was backed with his quoting from the book of Mark 1:37-38. According to him, Jesus and the sons of Issachar knew a sense of time was important in achieving the fulfilment of purpose. He said purpose puts man in charge of time.
“Many people are at the mercy of time but purpose puts you among the small percentage of people who can decide for time,”
He stated further: “The Nation Family was working to achieve purpose in life and was not concerned about public opinion, either praise or criticism.
“The statement we are making with all we do is that everyone demonstrates and progressively knows why they are here on earth, their purpose. The realization of purpose puts you in the driver’s seat of life because it controls your decision making, and that is where we have to be.”
“This is why God always comes through for us even when things seem to be tight and we can’t find a way. God’s purpose is divine.”
While admonishing youths not to put money at the forefront of their deeds, Pastor Tobi said money cannot replace purpose.
He opined that money only serves purpose and not the other way round because money in itself is not purpose.
“Real purpose gives the main reason for wanting to have purpose. Leadership is purpose. Leadership is showing people how to live a life for purpose. Money can advertise purpose, it makes us visible. Our money can be meaningless without defining its purpose. Too much money without purpose will lead to deluded minds. You need to find why you are here on earth, that is your purpose and it’s not about money. Money comes to people who have purpose.”
Clarifying why The Nation Family was involved in many philanthropic activities, Pastor Tobi said it was being done out of the will to fulfil purpose because they know purpose is more important than anything.
“Everything you see in The Nation family is driven by purpose. Don’t lose yourself to the noise you hear around you. Find yourself and your purpose. Connect with purpose.”
He prayed for African leaders to provide purposeful leadership for those God have destined them to govern.
Meanwhile, he reiterated the resolve of the Church to continue to pray for leaders in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular to keep the purpose of the citizens alive, adding that the nation’s security forces are to protect the masses at all time.
