EKITI KILLINGS: Police Parade Oba’s Killer, Femi Akilapa, Other Suspects In Ado-Ekiti

The Nigeria Police Force, Ekiti State command has today Friday, August 24, 2018, paraded arrested suspects who are allegedly connected with different criminal cases across the State.

The police made the parade in Ado-Ekiti the State capital today at the State command premises. It also entailed briefing the press and showcasing some of the achievements recorded by the command in terms of crime prevention, control end detection in the State.

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Bello Hammed did the briefing and gave a comprehensive report on the achievements of the police under his leadership and watch and how they have clamped down on suspects in connection with different criminal cases across the State.

The first case as outlined by the commissioner was the parade of Sixteen Suspected Cultists. Upon intensive investigations of recent cult related activities in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, a criminal hideout in Okeyinmi area was  busted on the 5th of August, 2018 at about 0115hours by w team Led by CSP. Saliu T. Muhammed and they were able to arrest the following suspects; Yusuf Ayobami (M) aka. AY Pumping,  Adeyemi Tosin (M) aka. Wonderful, Ibrahim Muhammed (M), Adejumo Kola (M), Monday Queen (F), Sunday Taiwo (M) aka. T-Boy, Asaolu Damilola (M), Uchena Emeka (M), Olumola Joseph (M), Falusi Oluwafemi (M), Ommisi Joseph (M), Ojo Eyinafe (M), Tajudeen Bello (M), Lucky Solomon (M), Adefuwa Olawale (M) and Lukman Kamorudeen (M).

Moreover, the following were the exhibits gotten from the above mentioned suspects; 1 cut to size single barrel gun, 1 live cartridge, Wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, Criminal charms, 1 Toyota Car with Registration number FKJ912 DEK, One Kitchen Knife and One Cutlass.

Most of the suspects confessed to belong to members of ‘Eiye’ and ‘Aye’ secret cult confraternity groups while others were directly linked to belong to ‘Eiye’ and ‘Aye’ secret cults confraternity groups.

The other cases were; parade of Seven Murder Suspects and Unlawful possession of firearms and Arrest of Four armed robbery suspects.

On the murder case, Five suspects were arrested on the 30th of July 2018 at about 0300hours, the suspects were parading themselves as members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and involved in an unlawful arrest and torture of one One Oke Babatunde Aina, a male, of blessed memory, which resulted to his death.

On further investigation, it was discovered by the operatives at the premises of the gang leader’s residence, Ogunleye Femi, aka. Akilapa,  a shallow grave already dug with the intent to bury the corpse of the deceased before the incident was unraveled by the police.

Also the suspect who killed the King of Odo Oro, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin In Ikole Local Government of Ekiti had been arrested and was also paraded. The suspect, Omoniyi Ademola Stephen, a Male, was arrested at Ajowa market in Ado-Ekiti on the 20th of August at about 1630hours.

The suspect who killed the king made a confessional statement that he killed the king and also alleged that the deceased throne rightfully belonged to him.

On the murder of former Personal assistant to Engineer Segun Oni and Federal commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, Comrade Bunmi Ojo, the commissioner of Police said, “investigation is on and we are close to it. Some suspects have been arrested and we are close to it. We thank the public for their support so far in the course of our investigations”.
