Clergyman Urges Youths To Pay Attention To Right Things In Life, As He Gives Cash Gifts To Six Students

NIGERIAN YOUTHS have been encouraged to make the needed move to rise from their backgrounds and push themselves to the place of their desires so as to be tagged ‘heroes who rose from zero.

This call was made by the speakers at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences Students Association of The Polytechnic Ibadan on Thursday.

One of the keynote speakers at the event was the Lead Mobilizer of Boom Funds, Reverend Dapo Adegboyega, who said to the students that success is embedded on their inside and not on the outside as many erroneously believe.

Reverend Dapo said Boom Funds was established to help young people and the organization has given out up to 20 million naira grants to many young entrepreneurs.

According to Reverend D as he is fondly called, the environment needs all youths to rise and go from zero to heroes. He pointed out that being a change agent who impacts the immediate environment has nothing to do with religion.

The widely traveled minister of the gospel who is also a successful entrepreneur challenged them to legitimately ensure they do all within their power to implement their good ideas and bless the world with their talents.

“Your ideas should be implemented, your talents should not go to waste. Don’t allow the environment to cage you. Our environment limits young people. Just do it!”

Reverend Dapo said Boom Funds was established to help young people and the organization has given out up to 20 million naira grants to many young entrepreneurs.

“Youths need support so that what they carry can be revealed for the world to benefit from.”

To fulfill potential, Reverend Dapo advised the students to only keep friends who share the same lofty ideas with them as anything contrary might be detrimental to their growth.

“You need friends whose associations with you are symbiotic so that you can together push yourselves to achieve. You also need alone time to come up with innovations. If you pay attention to the right things, you can break grounds that seem impossible.”

Reverend Dapo further motivated them to take advantage of opportunities that organizations like Boom Funds offer. He added that support is available for them to bring out what is on their insides.

The Dapo Adegboyega Education Support Initiative thereafter gave out cash gifts totalling two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) to Hassan Habibat Ajoke (Surveying and Geoinformatics),
Adeniran Basit Adedeji (Architecture), Ojebiyi Timothy Oluwaseun (Arts, Design and Printing), Ogunrinde Samuel (Building Technology), Akinade Grace (Quantity Surveying), Odeyemi Bisola (Estate Management) and Olaromoye Jude Olagoke (Urban and Regional Planning) for emerging the best student in their respective departments while the Overall best student in the Faculty was Adeniran Sunday Opeyemi
