The full manifest of the passengers and crew on board the ill-fated Beechcraft 350 aircraft belonging to Nigerian Air Force has emerged.
The air crash, which killed all passengers and crew, occurred at Kaduna airport on Friday about 6pm.
Although developing stories had different figures of the casualties, latest development showed that the victims are 11.
It was gathered that those on board the aircraft include Chief of Army Staff Ibrahim Attahiru, Brigadier-General M.I. Abdulkadir, Brigadier-General Olayinka and Brigadier-General Abdulrahman Kuliya.
Others in the army chief’s entourage are Major L.A. Hayat, Major Hamza and Sergeant Umar.
The crew are Flight-Liuetenant T.O. Asaniyi, Flight-Liuetenant A.A. Olufade, Sergeant Adesina and ACM Oyedepo.
A statement by spokesman for the Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Mohammed Yarima, confirmed the casualty figure.
The Nigerian Army regrets to announce the passing away of its Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru.
“The sad event occurred following an air crash in Kaduna which also claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew.
The COAS was enroute Kaduna from Abuja on Friday, 21 May, 2021 when the unfortunate incident happened.
“Details of the sad incident and burial arrangements will be communicated soon,” Mr Yarima said.
