SPAC Nation, the London based Pentecostal Church led by a Nigerian that has recorded unprecedented success in gathering young people and rehabilitation of delinquents in the United Kingdom , has defended itself from allegations levelled against it declaring that they are borne out of vendetta by some disgruntled former members and mischief-makers.
The Church led by Tobi Adegboyega records a weekly attendance of over 2,000 people mostly young and upwardly mobile professionals; who worship and Praise exuberantly, praying with reckless abandon and seen by many as very prosperous; a move that is quite rare and unprecedented in the United Kingdom especially amongst the Youths.
The Church in a press statement issued by its Board of Trustees Chairman,Rev.Dapo Adegboyega urged members of the public especially in the United Kingdom and Africa to ignore the media propaganda mounted against the Church mostly orchestrated by the criminals and drug peddlers whose criminal sources of livelihood had been shut down by the church.
“The prevailing bad press was also a fallout of the most recent UK election where some losers were throwing the spanner to the organization who wrongly accused the church of bringing its ‘Evangelical zeal’ to support some contestants who were members of the church.
”However, as a Charity organisation, we are non-partisan but we will support the aspirations of any of our members in any political party of their choice in every capacity that we can as provide;by the extant charity rules and guides, which is what we have done.”
“It will interest our admirers that an inquiry was only opened by the Charity commission on the 5th of Dec. 2019 as against the noise of the church being under investigation making the rounds since mid year. In the words of the Uk Charity commission ‘an inquiry is not the finding of wrongdoing’.
The Church has never being under any investigation neither is it under any at the moment. It has only received considerable coverage and commendations from well meaning individuals and organisations including the Police hierarchy who have also attended a couple of their services in respect to the uncommon result of the church where the Government apparatus is obviously failing.
“Also worthy of mention is the fact that major news organisations including BBC, SkyNews and a couple of print media who have sought for official access into the operations of the organisation have been given unfettered access without restrictions, and have reported exactly what they saw as reflected in their various documentaries; speaking very highly of the works of the organisation.”
“It was also recently alleged that members ‘sell blood’. There’s no such thing as selling blood. It’s a civic and voluntary responsibility to donate blood to the NHS encouraged by any responsible government and it’s a humanitarian and charitable act which we encourage anyone capable and willing to engage in.
” Allegations of fraud was also levelled against some Pastors of the Church. However, none of the allegations could be followed through as they came from fake accounts and nothing has been reported by any person or group of persons to the Church management in this regard through any of the medium outlined on our website and various communications.
People’s personal and business dealings should not become a matter heaped on the church in order to gain public sentiments. It is evil and out of order.
“Even at this, the Board has set up a 5 man panel to look into these matters further and report back.
“Be rest assured that we are committed to the best of practices and we will not be deterred from our major cause and objects by unfounded allegations to score cheap political or economic points to bring our demographics back into drugs and crime.”
“Our main aim remains the furtherance of the Gospel and advancement of the Christian faith by pay
