Abba Kyari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has lost his battle to coronavirus.

The president’s chief of staff had gone on self-isolation late March after testing positive for the disease.

He was subsequently moved to Lagos for treatment. Details of his death are still sketchy but Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, confirmed it in a tweet.

“Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. May God rest his soul. Amen. Funeral arrangements to be announced soon” he tweeted.
