Boko Haram Key Commanders Surrender To Army Following Heavy Bombardment

The Nigerian Army says 70 members of the Boko Haram terrorist sect have surrendered to its troops, adding that in the coming days, 630 others would be turning themselves in.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, who made this disclosure in a statement issued on Monday, said key commanders and influential members of the sect are among those who surrendered.
He added that one of the terrorists matches suspect number 225 on Boko Haram terrorists most wanted list released by the Nigerian Army.
Usman attributed the development to the sustained series of bombardment on suspected location of Boko Haram terrorists by troops of 26 Task Force Brigade, Nigerian Army, Operation Lafiya Dole.
According to the statement, “Out of the 700, 70 have come out of hiding and are being profiled. The rest are expected to come out from hiding the coming days.”
“So far, the surrendered terrorists have been making useful statements and it is expected that many more of them will surrender,” it added.
