New Service  Chiefs: Soldiers Kick, Express Disappointment Over Last Minute Subtitution Of OBJ’s Man

With the acception of resignation letters of the  Service Chiefs  and appointment of new ones by President Muhammadu Buhari, some military officers who consist of some high ranking officers  and and other cadres of the Nigerian Army have kicked and expressed disappointment  with the last minute  dropping of former President  Olusegun Obasanjo’s General who has been earlier tipped to replace Buratai.

Some of the officers who spoke to our correspondents  under conditions of anonymity said that they were disappointed with the last minutes dropping of the Yoruba General.

The soldiers who stated that the Yoruba General would have been the best person for the job because of his wealth of experience.

“We are all very disappointed that the Yoruba General was dropped  in the last minutes. We all expected his named to be mentioned  in the  new appointment  but to our greatest dismay, he was dropped  in the last minute. “

Another source in the Presidency who spoke to us under condition of anonymity  said that the cabal in the Presidency  persuaded  President Muhammadu Buhari  to drop the  Yoruba General as the new  Chief of Army  Staff.

The cabal according to the source believed that the Yoruba General  may not be easy be manipulated  by the cabal.

The source added that President  Muhammadu Buhari  may still consider  the Yoruba General for another top position if the cabal did not interfere.

It would be recalled that the Special Adviser On Media and Publicity To President, Femi Adesina, broke the news of the appointment of the new Service Chiefs in a tweet on Tuesday.
